1. Product Series Overview
1.1 Technical Positioning
SparkLink SLE (SparkLink Low Energy) is a next-generation short-range wireless communication technology independently developed in China. Positioned to compete with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), it offers significant improvements in transmission rate, latency, anti-interference capability, and coverage range.
Chengdu Ebyte’s SLE SparkLink modules all utilize domestic chip solutions and support the SparkLink 1.0 protocol standard. The product line is divided into two categories: Pure SLE Passthrough Modules and Wi-Fi + BLE + SLE 3-in-1 Combo Modules. Covering consumer-grade to industrial-grade scenarios, they support AT command configuration, allowing users to quickly achieve wireless networking without complex protocol development.

5. Risks and Considerations During Selection
5.1 RF and Antenna Design
-
All SparkLink modules feature a 50Ω impedance characteristic. They must be paired with antennas of the corresponding frequency band and impedance. Mismatched impedance causes transmit power attenuation, decreases receiver sensitivity, and severely shrinks the communication range.
-
For models with an onboard PCB antenna, a keep-out zone must be reserved during PCB layout. Do not place copper, metal components, or trace lines near the antenna area, otherwise RF performance will degrade significantly.
-
When using an external antenna, the feeder line should be kept as short and straight as possible to avoid excessive bending. Account for feeder line loss over longer runs, and compensate using a high-gain antenna if necessary.
5.2 Hardware Design Standards
-
The module supply voltage ripple must be controlled within 50mV. It is highly recommended to connect a 100nF ceramic capacitor in parallel with a 10μF electrolytic capacitor at the power input for filtering to prevent power supply noise from interfering with the RF circuit.
-
The E105-BS21 series operates on 3.3V logic levels. Do not connect it directly to the IO ports of a 5V microcontroller. Level-shifting circuits or voltage-divider resistors must be added to prevent burning out the module.
-
For outdoor industrial scenarios, adding ESD and surge protection circuits at the antenna port is strongly advised to enhance device reliability.
5.3 Protocol and Ecosystem Compatibility
-
SparkLink SLE is a domestic standard in China and primarily targets domestic ecosystems like HarmonyOS Connect. For export projects, please verify frequency band compliance and ecosystem support in the destination country or region.
-
The three protocols in the 3-in-1 Combo modules work via time-division multiplexing; they cannot run at full load concurrently. Scenarios requiring high multi-protocol concurrency should be evaluated thoroughly beforehand.
-
Pure passthrough mode only supports transparent data transmission. If you require customized development for standard SparkLink services (such as broadcasting or connection management), please contact the manufacturer for SDK support.
5.4 Certification Compliance
-
Ebyte's mainstream SparkLink modules have obtained SRRC Type Approval, making them compliant for sale and use within mainland China. Qualification documents can be requested from the supplier for bulk projects.
-
Exporting to regions like the EU or North America requires additional certifications such as CE or FCC. You may opt for certified base versions or contact Ebyte for pre-testing support.
