The rapid development of street lighting has brought a lot of pressure to urban energy supply and daily management. Due to the lack of remote control means, traditional street lamp control usually adopts the method of timed switch, which has the current situation of energy waste, low street lamp lighting rate, and untimely fault handling. Based on the current rapid development of the Internet of Things, Yibite has launched a solution for automatic street lamp control to realize the functions of fault reporting, automatic switch, and remote control.
The traditional street lamp control method is relatively backward, basically relying on manual management or time relay timing control. When the seasons change, the parameters of the time relay need to be adjusted manually. Every time the handling is not timely, it will always cause the problem of "not lighting" when it should be "lit" and "not extinguishing" when it should be "extinguished".

On the basis of each original street lamp, a controller is added. The controller contains a micro PLC, a light sensor, a 4G module, an electric meter, etc., which are connected internally through the 485 bus to ensure the stable operation of the entire control system.
The light sensor acts as the "eye" of the entire system, collecting the light information around the street lamp in real time, and accurately transmits the data to the PLC through the 485 transmission cable, providing a data source for the entire system.
The electric meter is connected to the national power grid to provide sufficient energy for the entire system. At the same time, through the real-time collection of electric energy from the electric meter, it can be seen from the power consumption whether the street lamp is working normally.
The 4G module is the bridge for the entire system to connect to external information. Information can be remotely reported to the server through the 4G module, and the time and commands issued by the server can be obtained through it. The micro PLC is used to process data in the entire system and is the core component of the entire system. It can determine whether the street lamp needs to be turned on for supplementary lighting by collecting data from the light sensor. At the same time, the illuminance collected after supplementary lighting is compared with the illuminance without supplementary lighting to determine whether the street lamp is damaged. At the same time, the energy consumption data collected by the electric meter can be used for auxiliary judgment. If the conditions are met, it is confirmed that the street lamp is damaged. At the same time, the positioning of the 4G module is called, and the information is reported to the server through the 4G module to the maintenance personnel.
The server is used to monitor the control information of each street lamp. Under no special circumstances, it can actually monitor the switch status, energy consumption information, etc. of the street lamp. On important holidays, the street lamp can be remotely controlled to be turned on and off at the same time. At the same time, the maintenance information reported by the 4G module can be distributed to the task, and the on-site management personnel can be notified to perform maintenance. The longitude and latitude information collected in real time can be drawn into a management screen, and the historical lighting duration, alarm information, energy consumption information, etc. can also be statistically analyzed.
The street light monitoring system is of great significance in improving the informationization and management level of urban street lights, increasing the lighting rate of urban street lights, saving energy, reducing street light power waste, and reducing maintenance costs.
