1. The E103-W02DTU cannot perform transparent data transmission normally after being set to STA mode. What is the reason?
First, check the parameters against the official datasheet: confirm that the WiFi name and password, server IP and port, and serial port baud rate/data bit/parity bit fully match those of the lower computer. A device reboot is required after parameter configuration to enter transparent transmission mode. You can first run a point-to-point test with a computer serial assistant and network debugging assistant to rule out external faults such as serial wiring and network firewall issues.
2. Can this device directly connect to IoT cloud platforms such as Alibaba Cloud and OneNet?
Firmware version V3.0 and above natively support MQTT Client and HTTP Client protocols, which can be configured via AT commands for access. It can directly connect to mainstream IoT cloud platforms including Alibaba Cloud, Baidu Cloud and OneNet without additional protocol development, enabling fast device data upload to the cloud.
3. What is the difference between the E103-W02DTU and the E90-DTU WiFi series, and how to choose?
The E103-W02DTU is a cost-effective entry-level model with a compact size, focusing on basic serial transparent transmission and cloud platform access. It is suitable for cost-sensitive, low-interference general industrial/commercial scenarios and simple retrofitting of stock equipment.
The E90-DTU WiFi series is a high-end industrial-grade model, featuring serial port electrical isolation, stronger EMC Class 3 anti-interference performance, and complete Modbus RTU to TCP conversion. It is suitable for harsh industrial sites with strong electromagnetic interference and high reliability requirements, such as factory floors and power facilities.
4. Can the device be used in outdoor humid and salt spray environments? What is its protection capability?
The device shell is sprayed with three-proof coating, which has mold resistance, moisture resistance and salt spray resistance. It is suitable for outdoor scenarios under shelters, greenhouses, and coastal mild corrosion environments. For scenarios exposed to rain, long-term water immersion, or severe corrosion, it is recommended to use it with a waterproof enclosure, or select a higher protection grade industrial DTU series.
5. What is the actual transmission distance of this WiFi DTU? How to improve transmission performance?
In open line-of-sight environments with no obstruction, the transmission distance with the standard antenna is about 300 meters.
Performance can be optimized in 3 ways: replace with a 5-8dBi high-gain suction cup or directional antenna; install the device at a high position to avoid obstruction by metal cabinets and walls; plan WiFi channels in advance to avoid co-channel interference sources, which can significantly improve transmission distance and communication stability.
